New 42 is a recipient of a 2025 Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre!

This highest distinction in our field recognizes all of the different facets of New 42: New 42 Studios, New Victory, arts education, youth development and urban revitalization. This award is given annually to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated extraordinary achievement in theater.
- 2025—New 42 was honored by The New York Landmarks Conservancy with a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award, the highest honor for excellence in restoration and preservation in New York City, for the preservation of the New Victory Theater dome.
- 2022—New 42 was nominated for a New York Emmy with WNET for The Set List – New 42’s Let’s Get This Show on The Street (ALL ARTS) in the category Special Event Coverage – Edited.
- 2021—New 42 won an Anthem Award – Bronze for Let’s Get This Show on the Street: New 42 Celebrates Arts Education in the category Education, Art, & Culture, Partnership or Collaboration Awareness.
- 2021—New 42 was honored by the WNET Group at its Education is Everything Virtual Gala. The event celebrated the commitment and contributions of New 42 to education in the tri-state region and beyond.
- 2014—New Victory (a project of New 42) was honored by Michelle Obama and the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities with the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award for its Youth Corps program.
- 2012—New Victory received a Special Drama Desk Award for “providing enchanting, sophisticated children’s theater that appeals to the child in all of us, and for nurturing a love of theater in young people.”
- 2008—New Victory was honored by Americans for the Arts with a National Arts Education Award for its School Partnership program.
- 2007—New Victory was honored by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment with a “Made in NY” Award, which celebrates excellence in New York City’s creative community.
