The New 42nd Street Isn’t Going Green.
It IS Green, and Getting Greener Through Many Ongoing Practices.
Use of 100-percent Green Power from wind energy.
A long-standing, company-wide enviro-friendly cleaning program.
New heating and air conditioning systems which have reduced
our use of electrical power by 20 percent.
No more incandescent lights, for a total energy savings of more than
85% and a cost savings of at least $50,000 per year.
Less and less paper usage.
Effective water conservation and filtered tap water to eliminate the
need for bottled water.
Reduction, reuse and recycling of copier paper, newspapers and
magazines, cans and bottles, fluorescent tubes and batteries.
Arranging for old computer equipment to be rebuilt and given to
schools and low income families.
A New 42nd Street Green Task Force and Green Team to make
sure company environmental practices are held to the highest standards.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
The New 42nd Street Studios building has been registered for a LEED EB (Existing Building) Silver application with the USGBC (United States Green Building Council). LEED developed a green building rating system that sets the highest standard for building construction and maintenance. We are aiming to achieve LEED EB Silver Certification by 2010.
